Alto has been a leader in inactive yeast products for more than 20 years. Our goal is to provide our customers a consistent product at a competitive cost. Our yeasts are Kosher certified, antibiotic free, and are always reliable in quality and delivery.
Alto Yeast originates from a continuous fermentation process at our world-scale and AIB inspected facility in Pekin, IL, which produces more than two million gallons of beer per day. This process uses a corn starch medium and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Our plant’s Quality Assurance department closely monitors the process to ensure clean, healthy fermentation without the use of antibiotics. The fermentation stream is transported via pipeline directly to our facility, where the yeast is removed and immediately processed into a growing variety of products for use in animal, pet and human food, and fermentation applications.
